Mahou India appoints Fernando Bustamante as new CEO

The appointment comes following the promotion of the previous Mahou India CEO Erik dAuchamp, to become International Managing Director, Mahou San Miguel, a role based out of Madrid, Spain. Bustamante would be based out of the corporate office of Mahou India in Gurgaon, India and will be reporting to Erik.
Mahou India appoints Fernando Bustamante as new CEO

Mahou India, a 100% subsidiary of Mahou San Miguel, appointed Fernando Bustamante as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Fernando has been working with Mahou San Miguel since 1991 in several capacities, and has spent the last 26 years holding various managerial positions in on and off trade business in Spain.  

The appointment comes following the promotion of the previous Mahou India CEO Erik d’Auchamp, to become International Managing Director, Mahou San Miguel, a role based out of Madrid, Spain. Bustamante would be based out of the corporate office of Mahou India in Gurgaon, India and will be reporting to Erik.

“Fernando brings good sales and marketing experience that will help us to establish the right organizational competencies. As we prepare for the next phase of growth, I am confident that Fernando with his proven abilities, will be able to lead and build the organization for future.” said Erik.

A graduate in Law from San Pablo CEU University (formerly Complutense University of Madrid), Fernando holds a Masters in Marketing Management and Commercial Administration from ESIC Business & Marketing School, Madrid, an Advanced Management Programme from the IESE Business School in Madrid and a Master in Commercial Organization from the CECO, Madrid. He has also been associate lecturer in Market Law at the King Juan Carlos University in Madrid.

“I am delighted to lead the India business,” said Fernando, “And I look forward to build on the strong foundation that Erik and his highly motivated team of specialized professionals have created here. India is one of the most competitive beer markets in the world and I hope to drive the business further ahead by building on innovation to give new dimensions to the beer drinking culture in India.” he added.

Mahou India is a 100% subsidiary of Spanish brewing major, Mahou San Miguel, a Spanish-owned family company and market leader in Spain with a production share of 34%.  The firm's history dates back more than 125 years, beginning with the birth of Mahou in 1890. India is the first country for Mahou San Miguel where it has a fully owned subsidiary outside of Spain.
