Mercedes-Benz India appoints Vyankatesh Kulkarni as ED & Head of Operations

Kulkarni is a Mechanical Engineer and pursued Data Science from IIM, Lucknow. Prior to Mercedes Benz India, he also worked for Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki India.
Mercedes-Benz India appoints Vyankatesh Kulkarni as ED & Head of Operations

Mercedes-Benz India has announced the appointment of Vyankatesh Kulkarni as Executive Director and Head of Operations, effective June 1. In the new role, he will lead the luxury carmaker’s journey towards electrification.

Kulkarni has more than 20 years of experience  in technology, planning, manufacturing operations, and supply chain. According to a report carried out by Financial Express, he has been associated with Mercedes India since 2008. Currently, he is leading the research and development team and is serving as the Vice President, heading the ‘Manufacturing Engineering & Supply Chain’ and ‘Digital Transformation Accelerator and Data Science’ practices. 

The announcement was made  by Martin Schwenk, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India. He said, “We are excited to welcome Vyankatesh Kulkarni to Mercedes-Benz India as the Executive Director and Head of Operations, India. He is a highly experienced professional bringing two decades of rich experience in technology, supply chain and digitisation journey of Mercedes-Benz. Vyankatesh has successfully handled many important global projects at MBRDI in the areas of planning, simulations, engineering, quality and supply chain.”

Kulkarni is a Mechanical Engineer and pursued Data Science from IIM, Lucknow. Prior to Mercedes Benz India, he also worked for Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki India.
