Midcap IT services company Mphasis has onboarded Ayaskant Sarangi as the chief human resource officer (CHRO). Ayaskant will be taking over from Srikanth Karra, who has served as the company’s CHRO since 2017. Srikanth will move into the Chief Administrative Officer role (CAO) to enable a smooth transition, until his superannuation in April 2024.
Ayaskant will join the Executive Council and report directly to Mphasis’ CEO & MD, Nitin Rakesh.
As CHRO, Ayaskant will be leading the company's global human resources strategy and operations; talent management, including recruitment and leadership development; overseeing the company's talent lifecycle and development including all aspects of HR Operations.
Ayaskant brings over two decades of experience across diverse industries, with expertise in various facets of human resources, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, talent management, compensation and benefits, mergers, and acquisitions learning and development, and analytics. He has not only overseen the HR function for service lines but has also provided strategic leadership to numerous Centers of Excellence (COEs) on a global scale, including those focused on leadership hiring, talent management, and learning and development.
Prior to joining Mphasis, Ayaskant served as the CHRO at Wipro Enterprises, where he led the company's human resources functions.
“Ayaskant’s strong track record in the IT sector, strategic vision, and leadership will be instrumental as we continue to attract, develop, and retain top talent from around the world while fostering our people-first approach,” said Nitin Rakesh, Chief Executive Officer, and Managing Director, Mphasis. Nitin also thanked Srikanth for his leadership and significant contributions in redefining Mphasis as the workplace of the future.
