Nike has named company veteran Aaron Cain as the new President and CEO of Converse, succeeding Jared Carver, who is stepping down after a two-year tenure. Although Nike has not yet made an official announcement, the news surfaced following an internal memo obtained by Reuters.

Cain brings over 21 years of experience with Nike to the role and currently serves as Vice President and General Manager of Nike Global Men’s. As part of the transition, he will relocate to Boston, where Converse is headquartered, and formally assume leadership following a transition period ending in July.

The leadership change comes at a pivotal moment for Nike, which is undergoing a major strategic realignment across its core brands—Nike, Jordan, and Converse—by organizing operations around specific sports categories. The move aims to sharpen the company's performance focus and counteract recent challenges, including sluggish sales growth and rising competition in the global athletic wear market.

As part of the restructuring, Nike has also initiated cost-cutting measures to streamline operations. Jared Carver, who spent 15 years at Converse, held various leadership roles across North America and EMEA before taking the top position in 2022. His departure marks a significant shift in leadership as the company recalibrates its direction to regain momentum.

Cain’s appointment signals Nike’s commitment to performance-driven growth and its intention to revitalize the Converse brand under experienced, sport-focused leadership.
