SBI Cards and Payment Services has announced the appointment of Avinash Agrawal as its new Chief People Officer (CPO), effective September 19, 2025. His appointment was made on the recommendation of the company’s Nomination and Remuneration Committee, according to an exchange filing. 

Agrawal, who takes on the role of Executive Vice President & CPO, brings with him over three decades of diverse experience in the banking sector. He joins SBI Cards from State Bank of India, where he most recently served as Deputy General Manager.

During his career at SBI, he has held several key leadership roles including Deputy General Manager – Business Solutions at the Corporate Centre in Mumbai and DGM – IT at GITC Belapur. Notably, he has been instrumental in shaping talent and HR strategies across multiple assignments within the organisation. 

A seasoned professional, Agrawal holds a postgraduate degree in Economics, an MBA in Finance, and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB). His expertise spans retail banking, branch operations, digital banking, human resources, and information technology, reflecting a well-rounded leadership journey. 

With this appointment, SBI Cards strengthens its leadership team at a time when the organisation continues to expand its footprint in India’s fast-evolving digital payments and financial services landscape.
