Standard Chartered Bank appoints Tanuj Kapilashrami as chief strategy and talent officer

Standard Chartered Bank has named Tanuj Kapilashrami as the Bank’s Chief Strategy and Talent Officer with effect from April 1. In her current role. Tanuj is serving the bank as the global chief human resources officer.

In addition to human resources, Tanuj will be responsible for the Bank’s strategy; corporate affairs, brand and marketing; supply chain management; and property functions. By bringing these teams closer together, she will drive an end-to-end view on how the Bank shapes, executes and communicates its strategy.

Tanuj joined the Bank in March 2017 as Group Head, Talent, Learning, and Culture, and took on additional responsibility as Global Head HR, Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking in May 2018. She was appointed to Standard Chartered’s Global Management Team as the CHRO in November 2018. 

Before joining Standard Chartered Bank, Tanuj built her career at HSBC where she worked across multiple HR disciplines in many of their footprint markets such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, India, and London), including as the Head of HR for HSBC India.

Tanuj currently also serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Sainsbury’s PLC, one of the UK’s largest supermarket chains; a Board member of the UK Financial Services Skills Commission; and a member of the Asia House Board of Trustees.
