TATA AIG General Insurance appoints Meghana Rao as CHRO

Rao brings over two decades of HR leadership experience across banking and tech to her new role at TATA AIG.
TATA AIG General Insurance has announced the appointment of Meghana Rao as its new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).
Confirming the development, Rao posted on LinkedIn, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Human Resources Officer at TATA AIG General Insurance Company Limited!”
In her new role, Rao will spearhead the company’s people agenda, focusing on enabling business growth, driving cultural transformation, and building future-readiness across the organisation. She will work closely with the leadership team to align talent, organisation design, and culture with strategic business priorities.
Rao’s key focus areas include capability development, high-performance culture enablement, inclusion and diversity, leadership effectiveness, and succession planning. She will also be responsible for enhancing the overall employee experience and strengthening the company’s employer brand and talent strategy to support its growth ambitions.
A seasoned HR leader with over 20 years of experience, Rao brings deep expertise in business partnering, organisation design, performance management, change management, talent acquisition, analytics, and employee engagement.
She joins TATA AIG from Flipkart, where she served as HR Director for three years. Before that, she had a 15-year tenure at ICICI Bank, where she held multiple leadership roles across the HR function.
Her appointment is expected to bolster TATA AIG’s people strategy and support its continued focus on talent-led transformation in India’s competitive insurance sector.
