Walmart appoints Priya Cherian as head of HR

Walmart IDC has announced the appointment of Priya Cherian as the new Head of HR, effective January.
In her new role, Priya will lead the people team in India, focusing on fostering career growth, prioritising well-being, and enhancing a sense of belonging for associates, all supported by cutting-edge digital tools.
“She’ll partner with Balu Chaturvedula and leaders across the team to ensure Walmart is a place where associates can grow great careers, prioritize well-being and know they belong, all supported by world-class digital tools,” says Maren Dollwet Waggoner, senior VP and global tech and corporate functions in a social media post.
Before Walmart, Priya was a Venture Partner at NextB Ventures, where she worked as Venture Partner. In her role, she was responsible for evaluating opportunities from the perspective of companies investing in early-stage start-ups. She also worked with various founders helping them scale their businesses and build a strong talent base and a cultural foundation for their respective organisations.

Priya previously worked with Flipkart, Alibaba, AND PayU in various capacities.
