Wipro GE HealthCare names Chaitanya Sarawate as MD of South Asia

Wipro GE HealthCare has appointed Chaitanya Sarawate as its new Managing Director, President and CEO for South Asia. He will assume his new role on February 13.

Strengthening the company’s market leadership position in South Asia by driving localisation strategy and delivering clinical access and precision care will be major responsibilities of Sarawate. He will report to Elie Chaillot, President and CEO, GE HealthCare Intercontinental.

In his current role at GE Healthcare, Sarawate works as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer fo ASEAN, Korea, Australia and New Zealand (AKA). He spearheaded organisational transformation that drove enhanced visibility, increased empowerment, and gains through segment specialisation.

“With his extensive commercial expertise and strategic regional and global experience, we are confident he can accelerate growth in the region,” Azim Premji, chairman, Wipro GE HealthCare and Wipro Enterprises, said.

Sarawate comes with more than two decades of corporate and healthcare experience. He joined GE HealthCare over 12 years ago. 

Sarawate holds an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and B Pharmacy from University of Mumbai.
