Microsoft has implemented another round of layoffs. In a fresh round of layoffs, Microsoft has announced to cut 650 jobs in its gaming division.  The latest round of job cuts is part of restructuring following the acquisition of Activision Blizzard in 2022, valued at $68.7 billion, inclusive of Activision Blizzard’s net cash. This acquisition, Microsoft's largest ever, has brought significant changes and integrations within the company, necessitating organizational adjustments.

The recent round of layoffs, the second this year, majorly impacted corporate and support roles both in the United States and internationally. Earlier this year, Microsoft laid off 1900 employees at Xbox.

Those impacted by the layoff are being offered exit packages including severance pay, extended healthcare benefits, and outplacement services to assist with the transition to new employment.

In July this year, tech giant Microsoft reportedly laid off its internal team, responsible for managing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), citing "changing business needs,".
