Cryptocurrency investment platform CoinSwitch Kuber has named Zeeshan Ramlan as its new Director HR while Sarmad Nazki has been named as the new CFO. 

In addition, it has announced that it expects to double the headcount to over 300, over the next 6 months.

Ashish Singhal, CEO and Co-founder, CoinSwitch Kuber, said, “The crypto space in India is evolving rapidly and CoinSwitch Kuber is increasingly becoming the platform of choice for retail investors across the country. We welcome Zeeshan and Sarmad to the team and are confident that they will help us lay a solid foundation to our mission of making cryptocurrencies a common asset class in the country”.

Sarmad has previously led finance at unicorns like Ola Electric and worked with major startups like Ola and Bounce in senior finance roles and with leading auditing & consulting firms, Ernst & Young and KPMG. He brings more than 14 years of experience working with high growth businesses across capital raising, investor relations planning & analysis and financial governance. 

Meanwhile, Zeeshan Ramlan is an HR leader with 13 years of experience in various functional areas, including HR Business Partnering, Employee Relations, Diversity & Inclusion, Engagement, Corporate Social Responsibility and Talent Acquisition. He has worked with companies like Intuit and Infosys in the past and was selected among the top 100 Global HR Diversity Leaders by World HRD Congress.

CoinSwitch Kuber is also looking to close some key positions like Chief Information Security Officer, Chief Marketing Officer, Head of Strategic Planning and Head of Data Science along with a few other VP level positions within the engineering and product space. The company plans to build a new 100 + engineering team, and a strong operations team to support the growing business.

The focus on leadership hiring comes as the company continues on its growth trajectory having onboarded 7.5 million users in just one year. CoinSwitch Kuber is backed by leading global investors such as Ribbit Capital, Paradigm, Tiger Global and Sequoia Capital India.
