Hopscotch strengthens leadership team, names new CPO
Ecommerce company Hopscotch, focused on international and local branded merchandise primarily for children, has strengthened its leadership team by adding two senior members.
The Mumbai-headquartered fashion brand has appointed Somu Vadali as chief product officer and Vivek Pawar as senior director of programmes and growth.
Somu Vadali joins Hopscotch as the lead of data and product functions team. He has spent about 18 years of his 22-year career in Silicon Valley building digital and data products across consumer, retail, and fintech industries at Yodlee, Acxiom, Imprivata, and Nuance before he moved to Future Group in India. His expertise lies in leading global and complex initiatives with domain expertise including mobile, gamification, behavioral change, machine learning, biometric data, and speech recognition among others.
Meanwhile, Vivek Pawar joins the company as the senior director of programmes and growth. Having spent a few decades in the technology domain building products in the fashion ecommerce space, he founded StyleTag with a vision to disrupt the fashion space. His prior work experience also includes working closely and advising leading multinational organizations including Nordstrom and The GAP.
Rahul Anand, CEO and founder, Hopscotch India stated, “We have taken a highly disruptive approach enabled by data science, product, and engineering to offer unparalleled value to the customer. Strong leadership will play a vital role in attracting strong talent to join Hopscotch in our journey, make the right product investments, and catalyze growth. With a new team on board, we will accelerate our pace of investments.”
These hires come after the company opened an office in Bengaluru to fuel its next phase of growth. South India is one of Hopscotch’s biggest markets, and Bengaluru is amongst the top three cities that contributes to the company’s overall share of business.
