Malabar Group appoints new Group CHRO

Malabar Group appoints new Group CHRO

The Malabar Group has named Industry veteran Jacob Jacob as its new Group CHRO for Indian and International operations. He will primarily be taking care of the people function of the Gems and Jewellery and all other businesses of the Group.

Jacob’s appointment is effective from today and he will be responsible for taking the people agenda forward within the Malabar Group and strengthen HR processes to bring in the best in class people practices. The mandate includes organizational transformation and change management initiatives at a global level.

Speaking to People Matters, he shared, “I will be responsible for putting in robust HR systems at a global level where the Group has its operations. The role is truly a transformation role combined with strategy and making HR a center of excellence.”

Jacob comes with over 25 years of experience across various International Markets in Strategic HR Consulting, International HR, and Startup HR. Prior to this appointment, he was the Group CHRO at Columbia Asia Healthcare in Malaysia. Before that, he was the Chief People Officer at Apollo Hospitals Enterprises. Jacob has had vast experience in managing large-scale transformation, Strategic HR direction on Mergers and Acquisitions, etc.  He has also had stints at Oberoi Realty Ltd and Emirates Airline. It is this vast experience that the group is hoping to leverage with his appointment.
