Philips India Managing Director, V. Raja to resign

Amidst a series of exits from Philips, MD V. Raja has put in his papers due to personal reasons. According to a media report, other senior executives including Amit Tiwari, Director Market, Chetan Joshi, Director for consumer care and supplier quality, Jayati Singh who was managing the air purifier business, Ajay Bagga, Director Finance at the health systems division, and Ajit Kumar who was heading HR have recently exited the company.

Daniel Mazon, VP and General Manager who is responsible for entire Philips Healthcare business in Latin America have been appointed to lead the Indian operations after Raja’s departure from the company.

A Philips’s India spokesperson was quoted in media saying, “Daniel Mazon comes to India as part of a global talent management process. We have had such movements to India in the past… It is important to note that more Indian executives have moved into global roles than expats moving to India. Philips India continued to grow last year despite challenging market situations — regulatory changes and demonetization. We are poised for a good growth in 2017.”

Raja who was appointed by Philips in December 2015 is taking an early retirement on 30th September and Mazon will take charge of his new position subsequently.
