Online skilling platform UpGrad has named Preeti Kaul as President of Human Resources. She will be based out of their Mumbai office. In the President’s position, Preeti will lead the company’s human resource function and her focus will be to drive high-performing inclusive culture and employee experience journey at upGrad. 

Mayank Kumar, Co-Founder and MD, upGrad stated, “Preeti brings with her a massive experience in building and nurturing talent pool, coupled with strategic business acumen. I am delighted to have her on board as a part of the upGrad senior leadership team and look forward to leveraging her expertise in developing and delivering effective people strategies that support our teams and our future endeavors.”

Preeti brings over two decades of experience to upGrad, having served in HR leadership roles in organizations like UnitedHealth Group and WNS Global Services. Prior to upGrad, Preeti served over six years at the UnitedHealth Group, a Fortune 500 company as the Human Capital and Talent & Leadership Development Leader where she led multi-generational and cross-geo workforce. She has also worked at WNS Global Services, Atos Syntel and Ernst & Young delivering high business impact through transformational and futuristic combinations of people, practice and processes. 

Preeti holds an MBA in Human Resources as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Labour, Laws, and Welfare. She has also pursued the Executive Leadership Program from the prestigious Wharton School of Business, The University of Pennsylvania. 

On her appointment, Preeti stated “Diving into the ed-tech industry with the leading online higher education company upGrad, is a major step in my career. I am excited to be part of the company whose ambition is to take innovative steps to build careers of tomorrow and contribute towards a digitally-driven economy. I hope to channel my acquired skills to develop a culture centered around collaboration, teamwork, and innovation so that we can work together as one winning team and position upGrad as a sought-after place to work for.” 

UpGrad offers online programs for working professionals and in a short span of around 5 years, upGrad on-boarded over 21.5K paid learners and impacted more than 370K individuals globally. As skilling is bound to gain even further importance as businesses navigate future challenges including the current Covid-19 epidemic, platforms like upGrad will be much sought after by professionals to elevate their careers to the next level. Recently, the platform partnered with BridgeLabz to launch a development program for engineers.
