Tata Group-owned Air India along with AIX Connect operating as AirAsia India has revised their strategy, which includes the introduction of new grades and adjustments to compensation and benefits. This aims to streamline talent acquisition and management across all verticals following the merger.

According to an official statement released by the airlines, the strategic decision to align career pathways enhances transparency and opportunities for all employees. The new compensation structure signifies AIX's effort to align remuneration and benefits with market standards. The goal is to establish AIX as the preferred employer within the travel and tourism sector. Furthermore, the airline is concentrating on attracting and retaining top talent across all business operations, while also nurturing a culture of excellence and innovation.

"The official website allows users to book and manage services from both airlines on domestic and international sectors with an integrated backend passenger service system. Both airlines have also synergized other ancillary add-on services and sub-brands, including Gourmair in-flight dining, Xpress Prime seats, and Xpress Ahead priority services," stated the airlines.

At present, the airline operates flights from 20 Indian cities to 14 regional international destinations. Moreover, it caters to 19 domestic destinations, creating a symbiotic network that offers a comprehensive reach for travellers across India and in short-haul international markets.

Recently, Tata Group has introduced a fresh logo, design, and plane livery for AIX, to be visible from December 2023.

In another news, Campbell Wilson, CEO, and MD of Air India revealed plans to hire new talent for narrow-bodied planes (A320, A321, and A320 neo) by saying, "Air India will deploy additional cabin crew members on its narrow body aircraft, which are operating on international routes and domestic metro-to-metro routes, to provide better service to passengers. On the cabin crew front, our recruitment and training teams have done a great job in recent months of onboarding new colleagues. Thanks to their efforts, and notwithstanding our ongoing growth, we'll be restoring a full service-based complement of cabin crew on our narrowbody international and domestic metro-to-metro flights from September 1. As even more new crew enters the system, we will be restoring the full service-based complement on all other flights too, subject to load factors.”

The airline is under scrutiny by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and according to a fresh audit report, Air India has fabricated records of spot checks, as many as 13 checks at three different locations (Delhi, Mumbai, and Goa) upon reviewing CCTV footage. CEO Wilson has been granted a 30-day period to address the issue, failing which the airlines could incur penalties.
