IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) opens its office doors to all employees but in a 25/25 hybrid format. According to the company communique, the move will be rolled out in a phased and flexible manner and will depend on respective team leaders and the requirements of each team or project.

A statement issued on the part of the company to the Economic Times reads, “Towards the end of CY’21, we will encourage our associates to return to offices, at least initially, before we switch to the 25/25 model. This will be done in a phased and flexible manner and will depend on respective team leaders and the requirements of each team/ project.”

According to the statement, the company leadership expects that with the new ratio of the hybrid workforce, by 2025, only 25% of the employees will need to operate from the offices at any given point. With this, the employees will not need to spend more than 25% of their time at the workplace.

In the statement, the company further added that as of last week, only 5% of the employees were at the offices, while the rest operated from home.

During a press briefing earlier in September 2021, Milind Lakkad, Executive Vice President and CHRO, TCS said, “With 70% of TCS employees fully vaccinated, and over 95% having received at least one dose, we plan to gradually get our workforce back in the office by the end of this year.”

In an official communique regarding the tech giant’s new initiative TCS Safe Workplace, the company stated that as the employees return to offices, organisations will require a comprehensive plan for safety, security and basic health needs of employees guided by empathy, engagement and empowerment.

To ensure workplace safety that employees can trust, organisations will need to monitor their return-to-work readiness in real-time, support data-driven decisions and communicate more effectively.
