Amazon India announced that it will hire close to 2,000 contract positions for its new fulfillment centre located in Attibele in Bengaluru.

These contract associates will join the ecommerce behemoth’s thousands of existing associates at over nine fulfillment centres in Karnataka, helping to pick, pack, ship and deliver customers’ orders more efficiently.

Akhil Saxena, Vice-President, Customer Fulfillment, Amazon India, stated, “In line with our commitment to making deep investments in the country and, in turn, creating opportunities for employment, we are excited to announce that we will be hiring close to 2,000 contractual positions in the next one year for our new fulfillment centre in Bengaluru.”

Amazon India has collaborated with multiple local recruitment agencies for this hiring drive. The recruitment agencies are looking for potential candidates who reside near areas such as Attibele, Anekal, Hosur, Jigani, Bomasandra, Chikkatirupathi, Bannerghatta and Krishnagiri, to name a few.

Fulfillment centre associates work in one of the four areas, namely receiving of products, stowing, picking and packing. Amazon India also partners closely with manpower agencies to ensure that all contractual associates are paid on time.

In April this year, a company spokesperson had stated that the company would continue to hire across multiple roles in India, with little over 4000 jobs being open for hire across various teams in India. At that time, Amazon India had also laid off sixty employees from their organization as a global restructuring practice.
