3 co-founders of Housing.com to launch HR startup

Just days after three co-founders of Housing.com- Abhishek Anand, Sanat Ghosh and Ravish Naresh quit the company, they have now announced that they will be starting a human resource management startup.

"We want to leverage technology to bring the process of 'recruiting' completely online. By building a platform where we can help candidates and companies to discover, communicate and engage with each during the entire 'recruiting' process," said Ghosh to Economic Times.  Describing the eureka moment for the new business venture, Anand said that recruitment process is broken at the fundamental level, "When we dug deeper, we felt that this is a big enough problem that can be solved by building an Internet product and no one in the industry has approached it in the right manner," he said. The final product will combine semantic search, machine learning and big data.

In a statement to the press last week, CEO Jason Kothari alluded to the plans of the co-founders, “Abhishek, Ravish and Sanat played an important role in building the foundation of Housing.com. They are moving out to pursue their new dream of starting another new venture. I sincerely thank them for their contributions and wish them the very best. I am sure what they undertake next will be as exciting as Housing,”

While the landscape for HR recruitment startups has burgeoned in the recent years, the recruitment function has seen a variety of innovative solutions that range from job boards, social networks, and companies creating their own talent pool using big data and analytics. According to a People Matters HR Industry Study, the market for the recruitment function is estimated to be Rs. 14,700 Crores. The new startup will join a list of startups including HackerRank, Belong, PiQube and GrownOut that are interested in identifying the right candidates for the right job.
