Adobe to set up an Artificial Intelligence center in Hyderabad
The California based computer software company, Adobe is planning to set up an Artificial Intelligence facility in Hyderabad. The decision was announced during a meeting between Telangana Information Technology (IT) Minister KT Rama Rao and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen.
On this announcement, Narayan was quoted in media, “Adobe is thrilled to announce that we are starting an advanced AI lab in Hyderabad. As a global leader providing content creation and enterprise experience software solutions, driving innovative products is the core essence of our company. The abundance of tech talent in Hyderabad, coupled with the pro-business stance makes this an exciting initiative for growth for Adobe.”
Recently, the State government of Maharashtra has also announced the setup of an Institute for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Mumbai. This center will be India's first ever center for research in AI, and the state government is collaborating with the Wadhwani Foundation which is investing over 200 crores in setting up the center in Mumbai. The officials were quoted in media saying that “ The AI institute will give a fresh impetus to the ‘fourth industrial revolution,’ and promote Mumbai as an investment destination in innovations and data analysis.
It is also said that the Maharashtra State Government is already experimenting with AI in the health sector, and has plans to involve a Mumbai-based tech startup to use AI-powered X-ray, MRI, and CT scan machines. The AI consists of the application of the deep-learning algorithm to highlight deviations in medical imaging.
