CEAMA appoints Eric Braganza as President

Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association (CEAMA), the apex body representing consumer electronics and home appliances, today announced the appointment of Eric Braganza as the President for the term 2021-23. Braganza is currently the President of Haier Appliances India Pvt. Ltd. He succeeds Kamal Nandi, Business Head & Executive Vice President, Godrej Appliances.

An alumnus of Sri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi, Braganza brings along an inspiring professional experience of over 35 years and has held senior management positions in the field of consumer electronics & appliances industry. In his current capacity at Haier India, he is responsible for leading the company’s domestic operations. Braganza’s wealth of knowledge and experience has continued to lead the company to witness remarkable growth in the past 10 years in the Indian market. He has contributed immensely to the overall development of the industry. Eric Braganza was conferred with the award ‘Man of Appliances’ by CEAMA in 2017.

Commenting on the appointment, Eric Braganza said, “The ACE industry is going through some of the challenging times. As an industry, we need to reimagine and reorient ourselves to overcome the difficult period. Today appliances and consumer electronics have become an indispensable part of consumers’ lives. CEAMA has been constantly striving to address pertinent issues and sustainable growth of the industry. CEAMA will be working very closely with the government to grow the domestic market across all key product categories in the appliance industry. Also, we look forward to more PLI schemes in other product categories which will strengthen the component manufacturing base in India to reduce dependence on imports and save valuable foreign exchange. By doing this, we hope to build economies of scale and compete with neighbouring countries in the export market with our manufacturing prowess. This sector has the potential to become the engine of economic growth and create substantial job opportunities. It will be my endeavour to contribute towards CEAMA’s vision of creating value add for the ACE industry through sustainable engagement with relevant stakeholders.”
