Cipla appoints Ashwani Dahiya as Chief Talent Officer

Ashwani takes over from Vikram Bector after the latter quit Cipla to join the Piramal Group as the Chief Human Resource Officer in July this year.
Cipla appoints Ashwani Dahiya as Chief Talent Officer

Cipla has roped in Ashwani Dahiya as the company’s Chief Talent Officer from September 2016. Prior to joining Cipla, he was the Senior Vice President & Group Head (Performance, Reward & Organization Development) at Reliance Industries. 

Ashwani takes over from Vikram Bector after the latter quit Cipla to join the Piramal Group as the Chief Human Resource Officer in July this year. 

In Cipla, Ashwani will be in charge of the Head of Human Resources for all Corporate Functions & Lead Centers of Excellence for Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Leadership, Learning & Development, Organization Effectiveness and Employee Engagement, as per the LinkedIn profile. 

The XLRI alumnus, Ashwani has also worked with the American Express and his last role in AmEx was that of a Vice President (HR) – Japan, APAC and Australia. As part of of American Express's Asia Pacific HR Leadership Team and Global VP for Total Rewards & HR Analytics, he has led key interventions that impacted significant shareholder, customer & employee outcomes in Amex's fastest growing markets in the world. 

Reliance Industries have seen quite a few senior HR leaders exit the company since mid-2015. In July 2015, Prabir Jha, the then CHRO of RIL resigned. Post Jha’s resignation, Harlina Sodhi, SVP and Head of employee engagement, communication, diversity, HR Academy and change management quit the company so did Rajeev Ranjan, VP of HR for Reliance Foundation, and Vikram Bector, the CTO.
