Microsoft India announced a leadership change after Anant Maheshwari, president, resigned from his role. He served the company for almost seven years. Microsoft is yet to announce Maheshwari’s successor.

As President of Microsoft India, Maheshwari was responsible for the company’s overall business and presence in India, leading engagement with policymakers, customers, business partners, and the industry ecosystem.

During his tenure, he led the team that empowered customers to digitally transform and scale their businesses, underscored by AI. He also spearheaded partnerships with policymakers, customers, business partners, and the industry ecosystem.

According to the report, Maheshwari has left Microsoft to pursue a new role outside the company.

Before joining Microsoft in September 2016, Maheshwari served as the president at Honeywell India, and engagement manager at McKinsey & Company.

He is also an Independent Board Member & Director of the Aditya Birla Group.

Soon after Maheshwari’s exit, the software giant announced the elevation of Irina Ghose to the role of managing director for India. Ghose is currently serving as chief operating officer.

 The company has named Navtej Bal and Venkat Krishnan as the new chief operating officer, and executive director of public sector business, respectively.
