Manish Shukla elevated to Global Head HR – Corporate at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories

Shukla’s journey at Dr. Reddy’s began over two years ago, with successive elevations reflecting his expanding influence and proven ability to deliver business results through people-centric practices.

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry, has announced the elevation of Manish Shukla to Global Head, HR – Corporate, and Head, HR Strategy. This milestone marks significant recognition of Shukla’s exemplary leadership, strategic foresight, and transformative impact in human resources over the past decade.

In his new role, Shukla assumes responsibility for designing and driving innovative HR strategies across Dr. Reddy’s global corporate functions, including Finance, HR, Digital, Process & Excellence, Legal & Compliance, FMCRE, CXO Office, and Corporate Affairs. He partners closely with seven CXOs and more than 50 senior leaders, directly supporting a workforce of over 2,200 employees—on roll and off roll—spread across more than 30 countries.

According to Shukla’s LinkedIn, he manages a substantial staff cost budget of approximately Rs 600 crore, overseeing critical global HR projects and board-related matters to ensure human capital strategies are tightly aligned with the company’s organisational goals.

Prior to joining Dr. Reddy’s, Shukla held pivotal roles at leading organisations such as ITC, Samsung Electronics, and Tata Advanced Systems. At ITC, he served at the corporate headquarters as Head, HRBP – Corporate Functions, and Group Head, COE – Campus Talent, Engagement & HR Sustainability. There, he championed strategic HR management for a conglomerate of nearly 30,000 employees, optimised organisational structures, and introduced programs that improved employee engagement and sustainability performance.

At Samsung Electronics, Shukla was the fastest-promoted HR manager in the company’s history, managing HR for high-revenue business regions and maintaining industry-leading talent retention rates. His early career at Tata Advanced Systems saw him head multiple Centres of Excellence, where he pioneered talent management, compensation restructuring, and performance management programs that built a future-ready workforce.

A recipient of the prestigious People Matters “Are You In The List 2022 – Emerging Future HR Leaders” award, Shukla’s rise is characterised by his ability to bridge business objectives with human values. He credits his mentors and the leaders who “took bold bets” on him and provided opportunities to grow through challenging assignments.

Shukla holds an MBA in Human Resources from the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from BITS Pilani. An avid basketball player, he brings the same passion for teamwork and performance to his professional life.
