Nikon India appoints its first Indian MD
Nikon India has appointed Sajjan Kumar as the new Managing Director. Kumar will be the first Indian to lead Nikon’s operations in India. He succeeds Kazuo Ninomiya, who is moving back to Japan for a new role in Nikon Corporation after completing his three years tenure in India.
It is reported that Nikon India, is targeting a turnover of Rs1,200 crore in the current fiscal. Hence, the company has announced top management changes with the appointment of Sajjan Kumar as its new MD.
Kumar was quoted in media as saying, “India is an emerging market for Nikon and has good potential. We almost contribute 3 percent to Nikon's sales globally. We are aiming, at least in next two fiscals, to contribute close to 5 percent,”
He further said, his primary focus would to enhance the customers' experience here.
Kumar comes with an experience of over 26 years. He joined Nikon in the year 2008 as the Vice-President where he looked after Sales, Marketing, and Services for India. He had worked with companies like eSys Technologies and TechPacific Asia.
According to reports, Nikon demands India to contribute five percent of its global sales in next two financial years mainly on the backbone of growing sales of DSLR cameras.
