Nissan and Datsun Managing Director resigns

The Managing Director of Nissan India has resigned. This is the third senior-level exit from the company in the past one year.

A few days after Nissan admitted to claiming wrong mileage figures in their cars, Jerome Saigot, Nissan, and Datsun India MD has resigned from the post. According to the reports, he is planning to pursue his career outside of the Nissan Group.

Saigot’s resignation is the third senior-level exit in the past one year. In June, Satinder Singh Bajwa, Director Sales, and Marketing left Nissan India to join Mahindra and Mahindra. Sanjay Gupta, Vice President of Nissan India also resigned just after one year and seven months. Arun Malhotra, MD, Nissan India also left in April 2018.

Saigot had joined Nissan India in 2010. He was instrumental in the launch of the company’s Datsun brand in Russia and took over the post of Vice President Operations in Nissan India in 2015. He comes with an experience of over 20 years in automotive marketing and sales across countries like Russia, India, Eastern Europe, and Africa. Before his appointment with Nissan India, he had also worked with the PSA Group in France and Russia for around 12 years.
