Pantaloons CEO Shital Mehta resigns

Pantaloons CEO Shital Mehta resigns

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL) has announced that Shital Mehta, the chief executive officer of its Pantaloons division has resigned from the company, according to media reports

Shital Mehta has resigned from the post of Chief Executive Officer, Pantaloons division of the company. Consequently, he will also cease to be one of the key managerial personnel of the company," ABFRL was quoted as saying in reports.

Shital Mehta was one of the company’s key senior executives, and led the retail chain under its fashion vertical for over four years. He played a crucial role in expanding the base of Pantaloons, and was a critical cog in the wheels of the other verticals of the parent company too.

An MBA graduate from S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mehta has more than 21 years of experience of handling FMCG brands. He previously worked as the COO of the international brands and retail division of Madura Fashion and Lifestyle, which is a part of the Aditya Birla Group. He also launched the British lifestyle brand Hackett in India, through a Joint Venture. 

In the past, he led the transformation of Van Heusen from being a wholesale led, men’s shirt brand into a premium, retail-led lifestyle brand for men, women, and youth. Furthermore, he headed the Esprit business in India for 2 years.
