Twitter has appointed Vinay Prakash as its Resident Grievance Officer for India as per the company's website.

The company on its website has informed that Prakash is the RGO and users can contact him using the email ID  'grievance-officer-in @ twitter.com' for any grievance redressal.

The page further added, “Twitter can be contacted in India at the following address: 4th Floor, The Estate, 121 Dickenson Road, Bangalore 560 042," the page said.

The microblogging site had previously appointed Dharmendra Chatur as its interim resident grievance officer for India as stipulated by the IT rules. However, Chatur stepped down from the post last month.

Twitter has been at loggerheads with the Indian government over the new social media rules. Among other requirements, they mandate the appointment of three key personnel -- chief compliance officer, nodal officer and grievance officer by social media platforms with over 50 lakh users. All the three personnel have to be residents in India.

The IT rules, which became effective May-end, aim to regulate content on social media and make firms to act more swiftly on legal requests to remove posts and share details on the originators of messages.
