Mathur will step down on August 31, citing personal reasons, as the home-services platform begins the search for its next people leader.

Urban Company has announced the resignation of Neha Mathur as Chief Human Resource Officer and Senior Management Personnel.

Mathur submitted her resignation on July 10, 2026, and will remain in the role until the close of business on August 31. The company disclosed the development in a regulatory filing with the National Stock Exchange and BSE.

Urban Company has not announced a successor.

In her resignation letter, Mathur said she had decided to step down to rebalance her priorities and consider the next phase of her life. She described her tenure at the company as an important period in her professional journey and said she would continue to remain associated with the business as a shareholder.

Over five years at Urban Company

Mathur joined Urban Company in 2021 as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and led its People Success function. Her responsibilities included talent management, organisational capability, employee policies and workplace culture.

Before joining Urban Company, she served as Head of Human Resources for Uber’s mobility business in India and South Asia.

She has also worked with General Electric, Accenture, Reckitt Benckiser and Coca-Cola across areas including human-capital strategy, organisation design, talent management and people analytics.

Mathur is an alumna of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

Her resignation comes after Urban Company’s transition from a privately held company to a publicly listed business. The company has yet to disclose how it plans to manage the people function after her departure.
