The Bermuda based reinsurance company, XL Catlin has appointed Claudia Thyme for as the Director of  Emerging Markets Development. In this role, Thyme will contribute to driving and executing XL Catlin’s emerging market strategies, with a particular focus on Latin America. 

Thyme will report to Brendan Plessis who is the Head of Emerging Markets at XL Catlin.

Commenting on Thyme's appointment, Plessis shared that Thyme's broad global experience, substantial insights into the insurance industry and their company, and her command in several languages, positions her ideally to help deliver their business strategy.

Thyme has an impressive experience of 20 years in the insurance industry, ten years of which have been spent at XL Catlin. Earlier, she was working in Communications & Marketing team, where she held the position of Director Strategy & Business Groups.

Thyme joined XL in 2008. Prior to XL, she was working with Zurich Insurance for ten years, where she held senior roles including Head of Communications & Marketing for the International Businesses Division and the Growth Office.  Thyme began her career as a Communications and Marketing consultant. She holds a BA from Georgetown University, Washington D.C. and an MBA from City University London Business School. She will be based in Zurich, Switzerland.
