GoAir's network planning head calls it quits

Budget carrier GoAir announced that its network planning head Samir Patel has called it quits. The reason being given for his decision is that he wants to go back to his family in the US.

Patel is a US citizen and has completed a year at the budget carrier.

"His family could not join him in India and hence Samir has decided to go back to his family," a GoAir spokesperson said.

2019 has seen a couple of top-level exits at GoAir. Samir’s resignation comes a few months after Cornelis Vrieswijk, Chief Executive Officer of GoAir, also stepped down from his role in February this year within nine months of joining, citing personal matters. The Airline industry veteran had joined the Wadia group airline in June 2018. However, he expressed his desire to relocate to Amsterdam since his family was not wishing to settle down in Mumbai. Cornelis Vrieswijk started his innings with GoAir in June 2018 after the departure of Wolfgang Prock-Schauer in December 2017.
