Automation Anywhere plans to invest $100 Mn in India to expand its operations in its second-largest emerging market for the business. The robotic process automation giant plans to expand its existing base in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Vadodara. Additionally, new offices will be set up in Delhi, Hyderabad, and Pune.

Apart from the three existing engineering centers in India, the company plans to add a new product engineering center in Pune by the end of this year. That would take up the total number of engineering centers to four--the existing two in Bengaluru and one in Baroda, and the new one in Pune.

During the most recent round of funding, the company raised $300 Mn through SoftBank Vision Fund. As of now, the company has raised more than $500 Mn. The $100 Mn investment in India will pan over a period of three-five years.

By 2021, about 90 percent of large and midsize companies will have adopted at least one process that is RPA assisted, according to research from Gartner. Such a large scale investment in bolstering their RPA capacities by Automation Anywhere goes to show that the RPA trend is here to stay in the business world.

At present, Automation Anywhere has a strength of 800 employees in India and expects the number of employees to rise across the Middle East and Africa region as well.
