PwC India to hire 1,200 for Kolkata labs
PwC India intends to hire about 1,200 people for its labs in Kolkata over the next year. These new hires will be from engineering and data analytics background and work for the newly opened future-ready IoT Lab in addition to the Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence.
Other domains that the firm is looking to hire in include: digital experience led transformation, cloud, and blockchain.
In Kolkata, PwC has a newly constructed 60,000 sq ft facility wherein the labs will be used as a ground to tackle issues that have a direct impact on global businesses like Industry 4.0, responsible use of blockchain and AI.
At present, PwC India has about 6,000 people in the region and the firm is refocusing on developing a talent pool that is equipped with the required skill-set and competencies that are essential for the digital age.
As companies such as PwC start investing in creating a pipeline of skilled and quality talent, it is a crucial step in not only finding breakthroughs in new-age technologies but also in ensuring that there is a robust highly skilled talent at hand to tap into to meet the skills’ need for the future of work.
