India Inc hiring sentiment up 22%: Naukri Job Speak Index

Demand for professionals in IT-Software grows by 19% in June 2016 over June15.
India Inc hiring sentiment up 22%: Naukri Job Speak Index

The hiring sentiment is on an upward swing. In the recent Naukri Job Speak Index for the month of June 2016, the hiring activity has seen 22% rise over June 2015. Telecom, IT Software, ITES, Healthcare and Insurance predominantly led to this growth in this period. However, sectors like BFSI and Pharma were stagnant in the current index in June ’16 compared to June 2015.

IT-Software professionals saw their jobs go up by 19% in the same period over June‘15. Similarly, Sales and Business Development professionals also saw 11% increase in new jobs.  Demand for professionals in Marketing and Advertising industry witnessed a whopping 34% growth in new jobs creation in the month of June’16 over June’15. On the contrary, sectors like Real Estate, Oil & Gas and Construction & Engineering witnessed a dip of 9%, 3% and 15% in June’16 index. There was a dip in the demand for jobs in the Top Management as it saw decline of -8% in the June’16 index. 

"The job market continues to sustain the momentum gained over the past few months and is moving further north with an impressive 22% Y-o-Y growth in June’16. Though this growth is predominantly driven by sectors viz., IT, Telecom and Healthcare we can expect the other sectors to pick up in the next few months or so. Looks like good times ahead for jobseekers,” said V Suresh, Chief Sales Officer, Naukri.com.

Among the metros, Delhi/NCR leads with a 46% growth followed by Chennai and Hyderabad at 43% and 36% respectively. Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune also report growth of 24%, 18% and 13% respectively in June’16 over June’15.
