Infosys set to hire 2,000 locals in North Carolina

Infosys also announced that their second technology and innovation hub would set up in North Carolina out of the four proposed hubs.

Infosys shares its plan to hire 2,000 locals in North Carolina. Infosys will hire first 500 people of these 2,000 in North Carolina by the end of 2019 and the rest are to be hired by 2021.  

Infosys was quoted in media sharing that they plan to partner with the North Carolina community college to implement a program that will focus on training the workforce for the future. North Carolina would grant $3 million towards upskilling these workers. 

Earlier, Infosys announced an addition of 10,000 American jobs and setting up four technology and innovation hubs over the next two years. Infosys will set up their second technology and innovation hub in North Carolina. The first hub is being set up in Indiana and the company plans to hire 2,000 American workers there by 2021. The other two locations haven’t been decided yet.

This is absolutely critical as we help our US clients, and every client, renew their core businesses and simultaneously innovate into new breakthrough areas while empowering employees through learning and education.”

Previously reported in People Matters, other Indian tech companies are also gearing up to elevate their plans for local hiring in America. Wipro announced in a press release that over 50% of its workforce in USA is local and that over 1,600 American employees have been hired in the past six months. Cognizant, another major IT company which hired 4,000 people in the US in 2016  is now planning to step up its pace of hiring.
