Pune based Persistent Systems is accelerating their digital journey by expanding their presence in the United States as well as Canada and Mexico to serve the clients better. 1600 new positions - including 600 for freshers – have been hired during the quarter ending December by the company to meet the request generated by pervious deals
Due to pandemic, the software service firms are increasingly looking for having more workers closer to their clients, in the same time zone, so as to increase efficiency.
“We may set up a larger delivery centre in the US, which is our main market, and scale it up as we grow,” Persistent Systems CEO Sandeep Kalra said.
The expansion plan took flight after Persistent Systems signing new deals worth $300 million in the December quarter of the ongoing fiscal. The new deal wins were generated largely in the product engineering and cloud verticals. Kalra said that they have hired 1600 people including 600 freshers for the same.
With software services industries still preferring their employees to work remotely, it’s an intriguing time for talent recruiters and HR professionals to find the right people. The rise of AI and cloud technology also adds more pressure on them to scourge the talent world.
The hiring could further receive an impetus as the company’s focus on growing its banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) vertical, as well as healthcare and technology verticals, alongside areas of expertise like cloud, are likely to help the company grow faster in coming quarters.
