TCS adds 430 former Transamerica employees to its Florida office

Indian IT services firm, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd (TCS) has extended its operations in Florida, as a part of its $2 billion deal with Transamerica. TCS has signed a deal with Transamerica to manage the latter’s life insurance, annuity, supplemental health insurance, and workplace voluntary benefits products. As a part of this expansion, TCS is adding 430 employees from Transamerica.

Suresh Muthuswami, President and Global Head, Banking, Financial Services and Insurance Platforms, TCS shares in media that, “We are excited to welcome more than 430 Floridians to our workforce and new office building in St Petersburg as we continue to invest in the best local talent and increase our presence across the great state of Florida.”

According to the reports, TCS has invested almost three billion  in the US over the past three years and is among the top two IT services job creators in the U.S. The investment includes TCS partnership with schools such as Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell Tech and Massachusetts Institute of Technology to drive nationwide STEM education programs to meet the massive requirement for STEM talent in the US.

Earlier, it was reported that Transamerica was firing 465 workers at its office in Carillon Office Park and that their employment with Transamerica would end on April 14.
