Indeed, the American-based employment search engine has acquired Resume.com, an online service for creating personalized CVs. The deal was closed on May 25 for an undisclosed amount. Indeed will maintain the company as a separate entity under Resume.com.

Resume.com was founded in 2014 by Ken Nybeck and Richard Lau. According to the company website, more than three million job seekers currently use the Resume.com site, creating more than 40,000 résumés weekly. Indeed will continue to operate Resume.com; its employees will join Indeed, and the entity will continue to operate out of Vancouver, Canada.

Before Indeed acquiring the site, resume.com charged users a monthly fee for downloading and printing resumes. Indeed will discontinue these fees as of today.

Raj Mukherjee, SVP of Product at Indeed shared on the company's website, “Resume.com provides job seekers with a vital resume service and career tools to aid in their job search." He further stated that "We’re excited to add this site to Indeed’s offerings as it aligns perfectly with our mission of helping people get jobs.”

Last month Indeed acquired Workopolis, a Canadian online job searching website. Last year it also acquired, Interviewed, an HR technology company that makes it faster and more comfortable for employers to identify and evaluate candidates.
