‘Workplace for companies’ launched by Facebook

Facebook, social networking giant, has announced the launch of workplace for companies that can be accessed by any company or organization who wants to use it. Also, it has introduced multi-company groups that will allow employees from different organizations to work together.

The popular social networking site, Facebook, has officially launched ‘workplace for companies’ which will be a private networking space solely for companies. 

‘Workplace’ will have the best of Facebook features including news feed, trending posts, search, reactions, Facebook live and ability to create and share those in groups or via chat. This will enable employees of companies around the globe to chat, host virtual brainstorm sessions or share presentation on Facebook Live. 

Along with this, Facebook has introduced certain unique features for benefit of companies such as a dashboard with analytics and integrations. This comes with single sign-on and identity providers that will allow companies to more easily integrate workplace with their existing IT systems.

As per Facebook announcement, more than 1000 organizations including large multinational companies around the world are using ‘workplace’, which was formerly known as ‘Facebook at Work’. The companies such as Starbucks,, Danone, international non-profits such as Oxfam, and regional leaders such as YES Bank in India have embraced ‘workplace’. The top five countries that are actively using workplace are UK, India, US, Norway, and France.

Along with this Facebook has also introduced ‘Multi-Company Groups’, a shared space that will allow employees from different organizations to work together.
