Indians enjoy maximum public holidays: Mercer survey

While Indians enjoy the maximum number of public holidays in a year, it figures at the bottom of the funnel when it comes to paid leaves. According to a survey by HR consultancy Mercer's 2009 Worldwide Benefit and Employment Guidelines, Indian employees only enjoy 12 days of statutory holiday allowance, as against Finland, Brazil and France that get 30 days of paid leave. However, when it comes to public holidays, Indians employees along with Japanese get the highest number of 16 days off.
