Job scam: Cyber-fraudsters offer aspirant job at Amazon, dupe her of 3 lakh

Cybercrime related to jobs is currently on the rise. Many are being scammed and are losing money. Most recently, a woman lost more than Rs 3 lakh because of a fake Amazon job.

According to India Today, the job aspirant received a message from an international number. The fraudster, who posed as an Amazon executive to offer her a job, obtained her contact details via platforms such as Naukri.com and Shine.com.

Not only this, even a fake Amazon website was created by scammers with the help of some software developers, and the links for job offers were sent to several victims.

People who were hired were assigned fake tasks and duties. Later, the scammers asked the victims to create a virtual wallet, after which their money was stolen.

The 20-year-old woman, who lost her money, registered a complaint at the Delhi police station. So far, four people have been arrested by the Delhi police team and it was discovered that a total of 3.5 crore transactions were done by the scammers. Over 100 people were cheated by the same scheme.
