Uber signs pact with Tamil Nadu government to create over 30,000 jobs

Uber on Thursday headed south to ink a deal with the Tamil Nadu government to take up its taxi numbers to 30,000 in the state and collaborate on a host of factors including smart city initiatives. Uber refused to disclose the quantum of investment in the state. This agreement follows a Rs 300-crore fund to be deployed in Hyderabad to develop technological capabilities.
