India's 2025 hiring trends show strong growth despite global challenges

India's job market is booming despite global economic headwinds.  A new report by Taggd predicts a 9.75% hiring intent for the fiscal year 2025-26, driven by a combination of replacement needs and new roles. This growth is expected to expand the workforce by over 24%.

"Despite external challenges, India's industries are thriving," says Devashish Sharma, CEO of Taggd. "The overall hiring intent for FY2025-26 stands at an impressive 9.75%."

The report highlights India’s emerging position as a global economic leader, with robust economic stability setting the stage for the country to become the third-largest economy by 2028.  

Several key trends are shaping India's hiring landscape including the following:

GIC Expansion: Global In-House Centers (GICs) are projected to grow by 36% by 2025, adding 800 new centres primarily in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

Emerging Talent Hubs: Cities like Jaipur, Indore, and Coimbatore are attracting professionals in sectors like BFSI, manufacturing, and IT.

AI Integration: 50% of companies are using AI for skill assessments and 36% for resume screening, boosting efficiency and diversity.

Green Jobs: India is prioritising environmentally friendly roles to align with its net-zero carbon emission goals.

Skills Development: Programs in AI, robotics, and cybersecurity are preparing the workforce for the future, particularly in middle management.
