Companies hire sleuths to check your CV for fake details

Companies, both domestic and foreign, including global banking major HSBC, the Reliance Group, Tata Sons, RPG Group, PNB Metlife and Wipro are hiring “resume fraud detective” or firms that specialise in cross checking information provided on CVs (curriculum vitae), Hindustan Times reported.

The shrinking job market is pushing candidates to misrepresent facts on their resumes, analysts said. In fact, around 84% of organisations based in India have come across candidates who misrepresent facts on their job applications, a survey conducted by global consultancy Hill and Associates has found.
