FHRAI to train and absorb people in hospitality sector

Given the lack of skilled workforce in the hospitality industry, Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI), the apex body for the hotel industry is planning to train and absorb 65,000 people under a government scheme. The scheme launched by the tourism ministry to create employable skills in youths between the age group of 18-25 years offers short term training programme free of cost in F&B services also covering housekeeping. At present, there are about 5.3 crore people employed in the hotel industry accounting for 9.24 percent of total employment in the country.
