IIT grads prefer new age jobs

Core engineering jobs in the civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering streams are less preferred by IIT graduates compared to new age jobs such as finance, consultancy, and software. Most of this trend is driven by the inflated packages offered by large global brands, such as Oracle, Microsoft, and Google. Only a small percentage of students from the IITs have been placed in core engineering jobs.
