The talent war: Start-ups offer stiff competition to Yahoo!

According to an article published in The Hindu Business Line, when it comes to retaining and hiring its talent Yahoo is facing fierce competition from start-ups. This report quotes Yahoo’s new HR head Aniruddha Banerjee as saying, “We are not losing talent to Google or Facebook, but startups.”

In the last few months, Yahoo has been in news for number of changes made to its employee related policies. The company has rolled out many new perks and benefits for its employees. Recently, company’s CEO Marissa Mayer introduced new paternity policy expanding parental leaves. These steps are seen as an attempt to make Yahoo more attractive for employees.
