HR Leaders have the power to influence company culture and they also ensure that an organization's culture stays relevant. A key role of HR Leaders is to ensure that the organization has the right people performing well in leadership roles at all levels. This means HR Leaders must focus on some areas such as job architecture, incumbent assessment, performance definition, recognition for success, and building leadership capacity. 

A company’s corporate culture influences everything from productivity and ethics to engagement and brand reputation/identity. For HR Leaders, it is important to analyze how culture impacts the bottom line and what steps businesses can take to periodically evaluate.

It is impossible to produce or replace culture overnight, but HR Leaders play a very crucial role in driving the culture of the company. HR Leaders ensure that the company understands employee concerns and also takes actions by organizing feedback loop via surveys or asking employees to share their opinions. 

Once the feedback is collected, HR Leaders can maintain unity among the leadership team, counseling those at the top and making them aware of negative behaviors and how all of this impacts the company as a whole. They also encourage and motivate other leaders to drive the necessary changes; it is also HR’s responsibility to remove those who are poor leaders and recruit in people who align with the company’s current or desired culture.

As positive and effective cultural environment continues to be strong factor in a company’s ability to attract new candidates and retain its current employees, HR departments are under always under huge pressure to manage and nurture their company’s work culture. HR Leaders not always have the power to change, replace, and improve the culture, but they have the ability to influence leadership to guide the work culture in the right direction and nurture an environment where employees enjoy coming to work and performing their jobs effectively as well as efficiently.

Few ways through which a positive and effective cultural management can be seen in a workplace with the help of HR Leaders:

Research has shown that positive and effective culture in workplace leads to better productivity and a better bottom line. HR Leaders are therefore a critical component in this effort, since they have their fingers on the pulse of the employee population. Working effectively with the different management teams HR can directly impact the organization’s success.
