#46 Bajaj Capital: Capitalizing Service

Bajaj Capital is an organization that strongly believes in the development of its employees through specialized training programs

Serving customers for over four decades, Bajaj Capital Limited is one of India’s largest distributors of financial products. Ranked #46 in the Great Place to Work® Institute’s Study and #1 in the Industry Category of the Investments sector, the organization has set its own benchmarks in delighting and pleasing clientele. With customer expectations changing drastically over the past few years, this organization believes in changing continuously to adapt to these requirements and at the same time ensuring the highest quality of service rendered.
With employees spread across many locations all over India, it is a challenging task to maintain the spirit of unity and belongingness in such a vast set up. Says Anil Chopra, Group CEO & Director Bajaj Capital, “This has to do a lot with our company’s culture and close integration as one whole. Our team leaders and human resource managing geographic locations are always in close communication with each other to keep themselves updated. The concept of ‘employees’ is alien to us; we refer to everybody as team members. Our members are instructed to give advice to clients, keeping in mind that he/she is a part of the family.”

Why is being a great workplace important for Bajaj Capital?
Anil Chopra: For Bajaj Capital, being recognized as a great workplace reiterates the fact that our policies are in the right direction. We view it as recognition by our industry which of course leads to satisfaction amongst our leadership and team members. Our workforce is jubilant and proud to have us here, which encourages us to do better and work towards a brighter future.
What are the top three reasons for employees to join your organization?
Sunaina Mattoo: I believe the primary reason for employees to join our organization is the brand name we have earned for our self all these years. They recognize it and are proud to be associated with it. Secondly, we offer a wide variety of financial services and products to all our clients; young professionals are excited with this as they get an opportunity to work and learn all aspects of the finance segment. Last, but not the least, the kind of training we impart is well recognized in our industry. Our popularity is also via word of mouth which attracts talent toward us. We provide the best learning platform for young financial advisors.

What are the key ingredients for Bajaj to be a great workplace?
Sunaina Mattoo: We’re an organization that believes in continuous innovation and improvement. I would say the most important ingredient we have is a dedicated team. We have a happy mix of old and new employees working together towards the same goal. I also feel that our culture reflects our values and beliefs which make us what we are today.
