We have just completed the third quarter of the financial year 2018-19 and also stepped into the New Year with high hopes from the industry. The third quarter of the fiscal year 2018-19 witnessed some significant HR movements in the domain and industry leaders from top to mid-level shifted their companies, some got elevated and few of them got kicked up. In this piece, we highlight some of the significant movements which took place from October 2018 to December 2018.  

October-  

Ajay Kumar - Global automotive supplier company, Continental elevated Ajay Kumar as the Chief HR of the India business. In his new role, he is responsible for the HR topics for all Business Divisions of Continental Group in India. 

Suruchi Maitra - Online and offline eyewear retailer Lenskart appointed Suruchi Maitra as their new chief human resource officer. The company roped this industry veteran to lead their people business. Suruchi Maitra comes with more than twenty years of experience in the industry.

Vinay Razdan - HDFC Bank Ltd. has appointed Vinay Razdan to lead Human Resources for the bank. Vinay has been named as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and will be responsible for the entire human resource function in the bank.

Before joining HDFC Bank, Vinay was working with Idea Cellular Ltd. Where he was the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), he had joined Idea in 2006 and initiated several transformational initiatives there.

Avijit Shastri - Online pharmacy company 1 mg appointed industry HR veteran and entrepreneur Avijit Shastri to lead their HR function. Shastri started his career with FMCG company Nestle in the year 2006. He was an entrepreneur from May 2017 till September 2018. This was after a total 11 years stint with corporates, the last six years being with Tata Motors.

Heather Gupta - MullenLowe Lintas Group hired Heather Gupta as Group HR Director. She takes over from Michelle Suradkar, the ex -Group Chief HR Officer, who took a break from work for personal reasons.

November- 

Vinesh Nair- Vinesh Nair, who was working with travel booking company redBus joined Practo. Nair joined redBus as Head HR in 2012 as Head of Learning and Development. He has worked with companies such as Idea, Hitachi, Sierra Atlantic, Mars, and others.

Biplob Banerjee- Senior HR Industry veteran Biplob Banerjee has stepped down from his role as the Executive Vice President - HR and CSR at JFL. Jubilant Foodworks is famous for its fast food chains such as Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin’ Donuts. In his next assignment, he has joined Allied Blenders and Distillers as Chief People Officer. One of the largest Alco beverage co in India. 

December- 

Sapna Saxena- Seasoned HR professional with two decades of experience, Sapna Saxena, previously the Director of HR, APAC at PayPal and having worked with companies like Telstra and Seagate Technology joined HR piece for Tableau as Senior Director HR. 

Subhamay Chatterjee- After working with Bajaj Corp for more than nine years, Subhamay Chatterjee has joined Anmol Industries famous for their bakery products. In his new role as the Group VP, HR he is heading the Human Resource and Administration Functions of Anmol Industries Limited and Group Companies.

Kaushik Chakraborty- HR industry veteran has left JLL and started his new innings with real estate service provider Savills as Head of Human Resource. In his new role, Chakraborty looks after the entire HR function of the company and he will report to the CEO, Anurag Mathur. 

Gajendra Chandel- President and CHRO at Tata Motors Ltd Gajendra Chandel decided to move on from Tata Motors after spending 14 long years in the organization. Chandel, who has been with Tata Motors as member corporate executive committee and chief human resources officer since April 2014, is now planning to pursue his entrepreneurial venture.

Ravindra Kumar GP- Ravindra Kumar GP, CHRO for South Asia Region, GE, moved on from the organization after 17 longs years and joined Tata Motors as President and CHRO, effective December 17, 2018.
